Everybody Wins! South Florida is growing! The enthusiasm was contagious when I walked into the third grade classrooms at Ludlam Elementary last week. Last year's Power Lunch students were bouncing in their seats and waving from the back of the room at the news that it is time to begin reading again. These veterans know how much fun it can be to read, and that the new second graders who will join the program this year are in for a real treat! The launch of Everybody Wins! in South Florida last year was just the beginning, and this year we are planning for tremendous growth. In addition to our returning students, and another group of new second graders at Ludlam, next week will be the launch of Power Lunch at Pine Lake Elementary with associates from Assurant, our newest corporate reading partner. Our goal for for the end of this school year is to be serving 120 students at a total of four schools. You can help us grow! Do you work at or know a business that might be interested in the Power Lunch program? We are especially looking for businesses based in the downtown or Blue Lagoon area. Everybody Wins! South Florida needs your support as we grow!

 Power
Lunch is a lunchtime literacy and mentoring program proven to improve
reading skills and attitudes. Volunteers are paired one-on-one with
elementary school students and devote one lunch hour a week to reading with
their student. Reading pairs choose books and read together, then chat about
what they have read.
